Behavioral Learning Theory.

“Give me a dozen healthy infants, well-formed, and my own specified world to bring them up in and I'll guarantee to take any one at random and train him to become any type of specialist I might select -- doctor, lawyer, artist, merchant-chief and, yes, even beggar-man and thief, regardless of his talents, penchants, tendencies, abilities, vocations, and race of his ancestors.”
--John Watson, Behaviorism, 1930

Behaviorism or Behavioral psychology is a theory of learning. The famous psychologists such as John B. Watson 1930  and B.F. Skinner (1904-1990) according to them   “All Behaviorists believe that our responses to environmental stimuli shapes our behaviors”. As the theorists Albert Bandura says People learn one from another by observing, seeing, modeling, or just copying their attitudes habits either good or bad through interactions with the environment.

The learners or very faster than comparing other learners which mean they can study in a minute many things  in details  and it reflect in their  whole life long. Behaviorists believe that our response to environmental stimuli shapes our behaviors.

According to the theorist  John B. Watson 1930  behavior can be studied in a systematic and observable manner with no consideration of internal mental states”.  As he suggest that only observable behaviors should be studied, since internal states such as cognitions, emotions and moods are too subjective.
There are two major types of conditioning:

1)    Classical conditional is a technique used in behavioral training in which a naturally occurring stimulus is paired with a response.

2)    Operant conditional referred to as instrumental conditioning allow learners through rewards and punishment.

  5. Behavioral approaches to teaching generally involve the following:

    1. Breaking down the skills and information to be learned into small units.

    2. Checking student's work regularly and providing feedback as well as encouragement (reinforcement).

    3. Teaching "out of context." Behaviorists generally believe that students can be taught best when the focus is directly on the content to be taught. Behavioral instruction often takes the material out of the context in which it will be used.

    4. Direct or "teacher centered" instruction. Lectures, tutorials, drills, demonstrations, and other forms of teacher controlled teaching tend to dominate behavioral classrooms.
